The Inn at Nye Beach Hotel

The Inn at Nye Beach, Oregon

Just steps from the ocean and a short walk to restaurants, shops and ice cream, you will love the perfect location for your next beach vacation. From the moment you step into the lobby from the time you say good bye you will appreciate the warm friendliness from the staff.   The Inn is adorable from the outside and has taken steps to create seating areas, beautiful flower boxes, and other aesthetic touches that set it apart from other places to stay in the Newport and Nye.  The interior is well cared for and parking is secure and plenty of it.

The ocean view room was very spacious and well appointed decor, colors and choice of bedding and thoughtful details making it very comfortable.  The balcony provided a nice place to watch the waves and sunset and eat the morning breakfast that was delivered to our room included in the price.    The room was clean and decor was nice at it was a very quiet stay even though rooms were booked all around us.  The website pictures definitely are true to what the property looks like which is nice.

The Infinity spa is a nice touch, open to all ages until 9pm and then adults only from 9-11 (thank you).  It’s not huge but really a nice touch to sit there an watch the waves while soaking.    The fire pit area is really beautiful and relaxing on a non-windy evening.   There are plenty of places to sit and unwind and we didn’t feel it was too crowded.    Great beach access but get ready for a climb down a lot of stairs.  I’d suggest you climb down, and if you don’t want to climb back up the 150 (approx) stairs you can walk down to the town from the beach and walk back on the sidewalk through the cute town of Nye.

The Hotel is located just blocks from the center of Nye beach which is a district of Newport Beach.  Nye has some great little shops and restaurants.  We love the corner store where they literally sell everything from cards, sweatshirts, adult coloring books to small appliances with hiking.  We’ve tried the Nana’s Irish pub, the Italian restaurant and BJ’s Ice Cream.    If you take a jaunt a little further out of Nye you should visit the Marina at Newport Beach.  Check out my other posts about the Historic Newport Marina

I would highly recommended the Inn at Nye for a very comfortable stay.  It will be a little on the higher side of pricing for the area but there are a lot of amenities that other hotels just don’t offer that make a difference.  I’ve seen some reviews that have said the Hotel charges too much for their rooms, however a lot of the other hotels are not nearly as quiet, clean and  maintained.   We stayed in one nearby where the guest threw their x-box out the window at 2am in the morning LOL.  We were very happy with the clientele here and the nice conversations we had with other guests.

If I had one negative and it is “first world problems for sure” it was that the balcony’s were not private enough for my liking.  But then you look at the ocean and all your worries disappear.   I think the hotel could  make a killing if they offered pizza by the slice for sale in the evening.  The Tap house Pizza Place a few blocks down the road is always booked and they refused to do to-go orders for pizza!   I guess they were “tapped out”!   All we wanted to do was sit on our balcony with pizza and watch the sunset which we ended up getting from Abby’s and it was just okay.  Seriously though anyone who wants to make a killing in Nye beach should open a really good Pizza spot and offer To-go until late.  Please do comment below if you have another suggestion or your own experience from anything listed in this post.

I want to thank the Inn at Nye for a wonderful experience and stay.   - Courtney
